During a press conference, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated that sanctions are being imposed on Cuban officials for human rights violations, and the US is set to sell new weapons to NATO allies.
She added that Bahrain’s $17 billion investment will create 13,000 jobs in the United States.
She said efforts are being made to ease tensions between Syria and Israel, and Syria is being urged to withdraw its forces from conflict areas. The tensions between Israel and Syria, she noted, stemmed from a misunderstanding.
Tammy Bruce also stated that negotiations on the Gaza issue are continuing, and a framework is being developed to ensure the implementation of ceasefire terms. She held Hamas responsible for the recent casualties in Gaza.
The State Department spokesperson further said that President Trump is not happy with Russia’s behavior, and he wants the Russia-Ukraine conflict to be resolved through diplomacy. She mentioned that the objective behind lifting sanctions on Syria is to encourage investment there.
When asked about India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, Tammy Bruce responded that she had nothing specific to say on that topic at the moment, but a detailed response would be provided later.
