Putin Willing to Offer Security Guarantees on Ukraine: U.S. Ambassador

U.S. Ambassador Steve Witkoff  has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has shown readiness to accept security guarantees concerning Ukraine. According to the ambassador, this marks a significant step toward peace in the region.

Speaking about ongoing talks, Witkoff confirmed that progress has been made toward a peace agreement during discussions held in Alaska. He noted that President Putin appears willing to provide assurances that Russia will not attack Ukraine or other European countries.

“We are not just trying to pause the war — we are working to end it completely,” Witkoff emphasized, adding that lasting peace remains the top priority.
