Iranian, British Foreign Ministers Hold Talks on Nuclear Program
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper held a telephone conversation in which they discussed bilateral relations, consular affairs, and important international issues, including Iran’s nuclear program.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper had a telephone conversation on Friday, in which bilateral and international issues were discussed.
During the conversation, the two sides discussed various aspects of Iran-UK relations, including consular matters, and stressed the need to continue consultations at various levels to enhance mutual understanding and expand relations and cooperation on issues of interest to both countries.
Araqchi criticized the irresponsible behavior of the three European countries on the Iranian nuclear issue and emphasized that Iran has never rejected negotiations or discussions based on respect for the legal rights and legitimate interests of the Iranian people.
However, he stressed that Iran strongly opposes negotiations that amount to imposing unilateral conditions.
The British Foreign Secretary reiterated the British position on the need to use diplomacy to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue.
