President Maduro moved from Brooklyn Jail to NY court

Venezuela’s leader Nicolas Maduro has arrived at a US federal court in New York City, according to live footage shown by American media.

The 63-year-old was moved from a detention center to the courthouse under very tight security. He was seen in handcuffs as heavily armed law enforcement officers escorted him.

Maduro and his wife were brought from a notorious jail to the court by helicopter, followed by a convoy of five security vehicles. Police also sealed off roads around the courthouse to prevent any security threats.

Authorities confirmed that Maduro’s first appearance before a US federal judge is scheduled for noon local time (5:00 pm UTC).
