Operation Hawkeye Strike hits key ISIS bases across Syria

11 January, 2026 09:20

The United States has carried out extensive airstrikes against the extremist organization ISIS in Syria.

According to the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM), these operations were conducted in cooperation with coalition forces, targeting several key ISIS hubs.

A statement issued by CENTCOM said the attacks are part of a military campaign dubbed “Operation Hawkeye Strike.” The operation was launched on December 19, 2025, following President Donald Trump’s directive to accelerate operations against ISIS.

According to US officials, the military operation was launched in response to a December 13 ISIS attack on the historic Syrian city of Palmyra, which killed two US soldiers and an American civilian interpreter.

The statement noted that the recent airstrikes were aimed at disrupting ISIS operations, deterring future attacks, and ensuring the security of US and coalition forces deployed in the region.

CENTCOM warned explicitly that if the US military or its personnel are targeted, those responsible will not find safe haven anywhere, and actions against them will continue.
