US and Israel Launch Joint Attack on Iran, Missiles Hit Tehran

Saturday, February 28, 2026 – The United States and Israel have launched a large-scale missile attack on Iran, striking more than 30 strategic targets with 50 missiles, according to Iranian sources. The assault has hit both military centres and civilian areas in Qom and other cities.

High-Ranking Officials Targeted

Sources report that Iran’s Intelligence Minister, Syed Esmaeil Khatib Zada, has been martyred during the attacks. Other key targets included:

• The residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader

• Intelligence headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)

• Presidential offices

Additionally, Israeli airstrikes reportedly targeted Isfahan, and explosions were reported near the Iranian Parliament building.

Iran Closes Airspace Amid Attacks

During the ongoing strikes, Iran temporarily closed its entire airspace to ensure civilian safety. Emergency services and national defence units have been deployed across major cities to secure residents and respond to missile attacks.

Operation “Shield of Jews”

The Israeli military has named the offensive “Operation Shield of Jews”, highlighting the premeditated nature of the attacks. Iranian authorities condemned the strikes as a blatant act of aggression against the nation’s sovereignty.
