Tehran Bombing Kills 20, Iran Claims 200 US Troops Dead or Injured Amid Escalating Tensions
On the ninth day of the conflict, a major attack on Niloufar Square in Tehran resulted in the death of 20 people, according to reports. Iranian media stated that American and Israeli aircraft bombed civilian areas, targeting oil refineries and oil depots in the Iranian capital.
In response, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed significant casualties among US forces, stating that “200 American soldiers were killed or injured within 24 hours”, and also launched missile attacks on Israel. Officials added that several American troops were captured, asserting, “United against the enemy of the nation, several US soldiers were taken prisoner.”
The Revolutionary Guards further claimed that 21 US personnel were killed at a naval base in Bahrain, and that an American oil tanker was targeted, following a prior attack on a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian strikes, the report added, have pushed Israel to the brink of destruction, as noted by a former US colonel. Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Defense confirmed that three drones were shot down near Riyadh, preventing attacks on a diplomatic area, with no casualties reported.
In a related development, the bodies of six US soldiers killed in the ongoing conflict against Iran were flown to Dover Air Force Base, with President Trump and First Lady Melania present during the arrival.
The situation continues to escalate, raising international concerns over regional security and the potential for further military confrontations.
