IRGC Navy’s strike damages US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln

Iran’s naval forces have claimed to carry out a missile and drone strike targeting the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Sea of Oman. The operation was reportedly conducted by the naval wing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to a statement from Iran’s Central Headquarters of the Holy Prophet, the strike involved a combination of advanced missiles and drones. Iranian officials said the attack occurred around 340 kilometers from Iran’s maritime borders and caused serious damage to the vessel.

The statement claimed the carrier became non-operational after the strike and that the US naval group moved away from the area at high speed following the incident. However, there has been no independent confirmation from the United States Navy regarding the reported damage.

Earlier on Thursday, the IRGC also announced missile and drone attacks on a US naval facility belonging to the United States Fifth Fleet located in Mina Salman in Bahrain.

Iranian officials stated that the strikes were carried out in two waves, targeting multiple facilities at the base. These reportedly included anti-drone defense systems, drone storage areas, maintenance facilities, and fuel tanks.

The attacks came shortly after a message from Iran’s newly appointed leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who stressed the country’s determination to defend itself against external threats.

Iranian military officials said the actions demonstrate the country’s readiness to respond to military pressure and protect its sovereignty. They also stated that Iran would continue to defend its national interests and maintain security in the region.

The situation remains tense as the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel continues to escalate across the Middle East.
