'100 Israeli targets struck'; IRGC avenges Dr. Larijani's martyrdom in 61st wave of Operation True Promise 4
Iran’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has claimed it struck more than 100 Israeli targets in Tel Aviv as part of the 61st wave of its retaliatory campaign, Operation True Promise 4.
In an official statement on Wednesday, the IRGC said the attacks were carried out in retaliation for the martyrdom of Ali Larijani, Iran’s former secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, who it said was killed during recent American-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic.
Missiles Used in the Large-Scale Strike
According to the IRGC statement, the operation involved several advanced missile systems, including:
Khorramshahr-4 ballistic missiles
Qadr missiles
Emad missiles
Kheibar Shekan missiles
The IRGC said these multi-warhead missiles targeted military and security sites in the “heart of the occupied territories,” particularly around the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.
Claim of Air Defense Breakdown
The statement also alleged that the success of the latest strike was due to what it described as the “disintegration of the Zionist regime’s multilayered air defense systems.”
According to the IRGC, field reports indicated that parts of Tel Aviv experienced a partial blackout, while Israeli emergency services were struggling to manage the aftermath of the attack.
Iranian officials further claimed that more than 230 Israelis were killed or injured during the ongoing retaliatory campaign, though these figures have not been independently verified.
Wider Targets Across Israel
Iran said the retaliatory operation has also targeted several strategic locations across Israel, including:
Jerusalem (referred to as al-Quds)
Haifa
Beersheba
The Negev Desert
The IRGC described Operation True Promise 4 as an ongoing response to what it called recent American and Israeli military aggression against Iran.
Regional Tensions Continue to Rise
The statement also warned that American military bases across the Middle East could face further reprisals. It specifically mentioned US installations in:
Qatar
Bahrain
United Arab Emirates
Kuwait
Saudi Arabia
Analysts say the continued escalation between Iran, Israel, and the United States could have major implications for regional security and global energy markets.
