Bushehr Nuclear Plant Hit for Third Time Amid US-Israeli Aggression, No Damage Reported

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) confirmed that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in southern Iran was struck by a projectile on Friday, marking the third attack on the facility amid ongoing American-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic.

According to the AEOI, “Preliminary assessments indicate that, despite the projectile hitting the plant’s premises, no sections of the facility were harmed.” The organization emphasized that the plant remains fully operational and contains significant quantities of radioactive materials, warning that any damage could trigger a serious nuclear incident with irreparable consequences for the region.

The AEOI further stated that such attacks “create serious risks to regional security and safety,” and stressed that targeting peaceful nuclear facilities violates international regulations protecting such centers from military strikes.

Earlier on Friday, the AEOI criticized the international community, especially the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), for their inaction in the face of these “savage acts,” calling the lack of response “astonishing.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also condemned the targeting of civilian infrastructure, highlighting the attacks that began late last month. He pledged that Iran would exact a “heavy price” for the Israeli regime’s strikes, noting that the assaults contradict US President Donald Trump’s previous claims of a pause in aggression against Iran.
