Iran Supports Lebanon Sovereignty: 7 Key Statements Amid Rising Israeli Aggression

Iran has once again emphasized its unwavering support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid escalating Israeli aggression. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed that maintaining and strengthening national cohesion is vital to counter foreign conspiracies that threaten Lebanese interests.

During a Friday phone call with Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s consistent backing of Lebanon in the current sensitive situation. He noted that internal unity is crucial to confronting external threats and safeguarding the welfare of the Lebanese people.

“The aim of the Israeli regime is to destroy Lebanon’s vital infrastructure and forcibly displace Lebanese citizens from their areas,” Berri remarked, highlighting the seriousness of the ongoing attacks.

The Israeli regime has intensified its military operations targeting Lebanon, coinciding with renewed aggressive actions against Iran in coordination with the United States. This surge in hostilities has heightened tensions across the region and drawn international concern.

In response, Hezbollah, Lebanon’s resistance movement, announced in early March that it had ended its strategic patience amid ongoing violations of the 2024 ceasefire deal. The group has carried out hundreds of retaliatory operations against Israeli forces in Lebanon and the occupied territories.

On Friday alone, Hezbollah reported 103 retaliatory actions, including bomb detonations targeting Israeli armored vehicles on the Deir Siryan path and routes connecting Tayyebah to Qantarah. The operations also included missile strikes toward Galilee, triggering sirens in the Meskaf Aam settlement, and attacks on Israeli military bases in Eliyakim, Tifen east of Akka, and Zeiyo in Haifa’s occupied port.

Araghchi praised Lebanon’s leadership for its steadfast stance on national unity and acknowledged Berri’s detailed briefing on the consequences of the Israeli attacks. He underscored that solidarity among Lebanese factions is key to resisting foreign plots designed to destabilize the country.

With tensions mounting, the international community continues to monitor the situation, urging restraint from all parties. Analysts note that Iran’s firm support for Lebanon’s sovereignty reflects broader regional dynamics and Tehran’s commitment to its strategic alliances in the Middle East.
