King Charles’ Congress Speech: Warns of Global Instability and Calls for Unity
The Britain King Charles and Queen Camilla’s State Visit has begun to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence, and UK king mark this visit by delivered a powerful speech to both houses of Congress.
King Charles highlight the circumstance and clashes between Europe and Middle East, and underlines the relationship with UK and US, and said, UK and US would always remain devoted partners in defense of democracy.
During his historic speech, the monarch spoke words so strong they brought the room to a pause.
Charles spoke about the necessity for an international rule of law and the importance of common conviction in “democratic, legal and social traditions”.
King also said, ‘our two countries have always found ways to come together,’ while warned about dangers of isolationism, and highlight their deeply shared historical and philosophical origins.
Another thing, which getting a huge laughter when King said in his speech, ‘that’s 250 years, or as we say in the United Kingdom, just the other day’. Even a joke made its way in about the US being a young country as it prepares to mark its 250th anniversary.
The monarch also express ‘acts of violence will never succeed’ to US congress in the context of Trump recent attack.
King come forward in the wake of stressed UK and US relations in recent months, he drawing on his personal prestige and Trump’s interest in the monarchy to restore a sense of transatlantic trust.
He also spoke about on the importance of trade between the two countries in reaction to Trump’s frequent threats of tariff hikes on countries around the world.
King Charles said in his speech, ‘More broadly, we celebrate the $430bn in annual trade that continues to grow, the $1.7 trillion in mutual investment that fuels that innovation, and the millions of jobs on both sides of the Atlantic supported across both economies.’
‘From the depths of the Atlantic to the disastrously melting ice-caps of the Arctic, the commitment and expertise of the United States armed forces and its allies lie at the heart of Nato, pledged to each other’s defence, protecting our citizens and interests, keeping North Americans and Europeans safe from our common adversaries,’ further said.
Queen Elizabeth also call out in the monarch speech: ‘When my mother visited in 1957, not the least of her tasks was to help put the special back into our relationship after a crisis in the Middle East.’
He noted. ‘Nearly 70 years on, it is hard to imagine anything like that happening today. But it is not hard to see how important the relationship remains, in matters both seen and unseen.’
The King also touched on the ‘natural wonders’ of the US, highlighting his passion for the environment and stressing the importance of its protection.
King Charles said, ‘Yet even as we celebrate the beauty that surrounds us, our generation must decide how to address the collapse of critical natural systems which threatens far more than the harmony and essential diversity of nature.’
He added, “We ignore at our peril the fact that these natural systems, in other words, nature’s own economy, provide the foundation for our prosperity and our national security.”
King Charles added humor throughout his speech, touching on Trump’s debated East Wing ballroom proposal and even recalling when British troops set the White House on fire.
‘I cannot help noticing the readjustments to the East Wing, Mr. President,’ King Charles said to Trump. ‘I’m sorry to say that we British, of course, made our own small attempt at real estate development of the White House in 1814.’
For the moment, ‘Charles agrees with me even more than I do. We’re never going to let that opponent have a nuclear weapon.’ Trump said during a state dinner at the White House.
