Indian Firm Accused of Evading US Sanctions Through Iranian Trade Route
An Indian firm has been accused of trying to avoid US sanctions by importing Iranian petrochemicals through deceptive shipping routes. Reports say the company used methods to hide the true source of the cargo, creating concerns about illegal trade activities.
According to a new study, the firm produced around 2.6 million metric tons of granulated urea using materials linked to Iran. It is claimed that the shipment was sent through Oman to make it appear as if the goods came from another location.
The cargo vessel MV Infinity reportedly traveled to Oman as part of the alleged operation. Experts say this route may have been chosen to avoid restrictions on dealing directly with Iranian exporters.
Documents connected to the shipment are now circulating online, bringing more public attention to the matter. Analysts say the Indian company could face possible action from the United States if the accusations are proven true. The case has raised fresh questions about enforcement of sanctions.
