Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State has urged United Nations to intervene and force Iran with a resolution to open “Strait of Hormuz”, stop blowing ships and reach a peace agreement.
On Thursday UN Security Council has drafted a resolution with the US administration involving Qatar, U.A.E, Bahrain and Kuwait. The resolution possibly states to put sanction on Iran to use the Strait of Hormuz for commercial purposes, this was proposed to hold back Iran for an agreement to finish nuclear weaponization.
Since Trump came into power it is evident that He and his administration has purged into a deep hole by their own decisions at National and International level through hostile approach and threats rather than peace and dialogues. The US administration is missing the part that always after every insurgency the US administration has to sit on table after every loss in the past 80 years.
US proposed UN resolution which include points to open Strait of Hormuz will be a test for the presence of United Nations, US administration has also appealed Russia and China not to repeat Vetoes.
US government since Trump came into power has by passed UN resolutions on Palestine herself, US always supported killings in Palestine and favored Israel.
While Rubio stated he looks forward to the vote on the resolution, he also told journalists on Tuesday that he remained uncertain if “slight adjustments” the US had made to the text would be enough to avoid a veto from Tehran’s allies on the council which has previously been evident, previous Bahraini resolution, which was backed by the US and appeared to open a path to legitimize military action against Iran, failed last month when Russia and China exercised their vetoes in the 15-member Security Council.
The new draft avoids explicit language about authorizing force while still operating under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which allows the Security Council to impose measures ranging from sanctions to military action.
30 days time will be given to Iran If the proposed draft is passed without being vetoed by China and Russia which are supporting Iran on Humanitarian grounds.
