Qalibaf Arrives in Switzerland to Advance Iran-U.S. Memorandum

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has reaffirmed his commitment to those killed during what Iran describes as the recent American-Israeli aggression, as he arrived in Zurich, Switzerland, to pursue the implementation of a Pakistan-mediated memorandum signed between Iran and the United States. The senior Iranian official made the remarks in a post on X on Saturday ahead of key discussions related to the agreement.

Qalibaf said the talks are aimed at ensuring that commitments outlined in the memorandum are honored by all parties. The understanding was reached with the stated goal of ending tensions and breaking the cycle of escalation that followed the recent attacks, which Iran has characterized as unprovoked. The negotiations are expected to focus on compliance with the agreement and steps toward a broader settlement.

The Iranian parliament speaker emphasized that Tehran remains determined to safeguard its national interests while seeking accountability for the consequences of the conflict. His visit to Switzerland comes as diplomatic efforts continue to address disputes surrounding the memorandum and advance dialogue between Iran and the United States.
