Zelensky to Seek Urgent Air Defence Support at NATO Summit in Turkey

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to use the NATO meeting in Turkey to urge Kyiv’s allies to provide additional air defence systems needed to protect Ukraine from intensifying Russian attacks. His appeal comes after a series of deadly missile strikes on Kyiv that damaged residential buildings and killed dozens of civilians.

The NATO summit in Ankara will also provide Zelensky with an opportunity to meet US President Donald Trump and push for stronger international pressure on Russia. Zelensky is expected to argue that Moscow’s continued attacks demonstrate weakness rather than strength and call for efforts to bring Russia toward negotiations for a “dignified” peace.

The latest Russian strikes come as Ukraine has increased its own long-range drone operations against targets inside Russia, including oil refineries and military facilities. The attacks have disrupted fuel supplies and contributed to power shortages, adding further pressure to the ongoing conflict between the two countries.
