New Hamas Political Chief Khalil al-Hayya Pledges to End Israeli Offensive and Support Gaza

Newly elected Hamas political chief Khalil al-Hayya has vowed to continue the path of the group’s slain leaders, saying he remains committed to their vision and objectives. Speaking in his first address after assuming the position, al-Hayya pledged to lead the movement with determination during what he described as a critical period for the Palestinian people.

Al-Hayya said easing the suffering of Gaza’s residents would be a top priority, adding that Hamas would pursue every possible avenue to alleviate the humanitarian crisis. He stressed that ending Israeli military operations in Gaza was among the movement’s foremost objectives.

The Hamas leader also said defending the occupied West Bank remained a responsibility entrusted to the movement. He reiterated Hamas’ commitment to supporting Palestinians across the occupied territories while emphasizing that the group’s leadership would continue working toward its stated political and strategic goals.
