Iran Warns US Against Threatening Commercial Ships Amid Rising Gulf Tensions

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters has accused the United States of threatening Iranian commercial vessels, tankers, and merchant ships operating in the country’s coastal and territorial waters, warning that such actions would be viewed as an escalation of regional tensions. In a statement issued on Monday, the headquarters said the alleged threats had occurred over the past three days following what it described as the implementation of an “illegal naval blockade” against Iran.

The statement warned that any hostile action targeting Iranian maritime traffic would be considered an expansion of the conflict in the region. It added that Iran’s armed forces had already demonstrated their willingness and capability to respond to threats and would not leave any action by what it described as the U.S. military’s “terrorist army” unanswered.

The latest statement underscores growing tensions in Gulf waters, where maritime security and the movement of commercial shipping remain highly sensitive issues. Iranian military officials reiterated that the country would respond to any perceived threat against its vessels, signaling that further confrontation at sea could intensify the already fragile regional security environment.
