Yemen Govt Claims 950 Houthis Killed in 1,879 Military Operations
Yemen’s internationally recognised government has claimed that its forces carried out 1,879 military operations against the Iran-backed Houthi group on different fronts, killing 950 fighters and destroying or disabling 380 military vehicles.
According to a report by the Khaleej Times, the operations were conducted under the government’s ongoing military campaign, called “Dawn of Yemen.”
Military spokesperson Colonel Majid al-Nuzaili said the operations targeted Houthi positions, command centres, weapons depots and other military facilities.
Yemen’s government forces are carrying out operations on several fronts to regain control of areas held by the Houthi group. One of the main goals of the campaign is to retake territories under Houthi control, including the capital, Sanaa.
However, the claims about the number of Houthi fighters killed and military vehicles destroyed or disabled have not been independently verified. The Houthi group has not immediately commented on the figures.
The conflict between Yemen’s internationally recognised government and the Houthis has continued for years, with fighting on several fronts affecting the country’s security and political situation.
