IRGC Says Military Capabilities Have Increased 50%, Warns of New Weapons

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says its military capabilities have increased by at least 50%, warning that any further escalation of the war could reveal new weapons and capabilities that adversaries may not expect.
IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebi said the force had strengthened its military capacity in both quantitative and qualitative terms.
He said production of missiles, drones and other military equipment had continued and expanded, while improvements had been made to the range, accuracy and destructive power of Iranian weapons.
Mohebi added that new weapons were being developed at a rapid pace. He warned that a further escalation of the conflict could bring previously undisclosed capabilities into use, potentially surprising Iran’s opponents.
The remarks appear intended to signal Tehran’s continued military preparedness amid heightened regional tensions. However, the spokesperson did not provide independently verifiable figures, technical details or evidence to substantiate the reported 50% increase in capabilities.
The statement also did not identify specific new weapons or indicate under what circumstances they might be deployed.
Iran’s missile and drone programmes remain central to its military posture, particularly as tensions with the United States and Israel continue. The latest remarks underline Tehran’s emphasis on deterrence and its warning that an expanded conflict could carry additional military risks.
