29,606 Gazans martyred in Israeli bombardment since Oct 7

The Gaza’s health ministry has said that at least 29,606 people have been killed in the Palestinian territory during the Israeli bombardment since October 7.

It added the toll includes at least 92 fatalities in the past 24 hours. 69,737 people have been injured since the conflict began on October 7, the ministry said in a statement.

Israeli forces have arrested at least 22 Palestinians overnight in the occupied West Bank – a journalist and two children among them – Al Jazeera reported citing the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.

The fresh arrests have increased the number of Palestinians arrested in the occupied territory since October 7 to 7,210.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces conducted raids and arrests in many areas, including Hebron, Tulkarem, the town of Beit Furik and several villages northeast of Jenin, among others, according to Al Jazeera.

EU’s Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell has said that the announcement by Israel’s far right Minister Bezalel Smotrich to build more than 3,000 new units in the occupied West Bank is “inflammatory and dangerous”, Al Jazeera reports.

“Settlements make Israelis and Palestinians less safe, fuel tensions, obstruct peace efforts, and constitute a grave breach of international law,” he added.
