Interior Minister asks people to follow SOPs today and on Eidul Fitr holidays.

 

Federal Minister for Interior Brigadier (R) Ijaz Ahmed Shah on Thursday released a video message.

Interior Minister asks people to follow SOPs

He urged the nation to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs),  while observing the Jumma- tul- Wida and celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr.

He was referring to the SOPs which government announced to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The minister requested the people to follow the SOPs which the federal and provincial governments announced.

He said asked people to keep distance while offering Namaz and wear masks at public places.

He also advised the people not to hug each other on Eid day as per the SOPs and just extend Eid greetings maintaining the advised distance.

Ijaz Shah said like other parts of the world, Pakistan was also affected by the deadly COVID-19.

He said till date about 980 people died due to this disease in the country.

The minister said that following the SOPs in letter and spirit would ensure the peoples’ safety and they would be able to celebrate Eids in future too.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has soared to 48,091.

2,193 cased reported during the last 24 hours.

According to National Command and Operation Center, 17,382 cases detected in Punjab so far, 18,964 in Sindh, 6,815 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,968 in Balochistan, 1,235 in Islamabad, 579 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 148 in Azad Kashmir.

14,155 patients have so far recovered from the virus.

The death toll stands at 1,017 with 32 new deaths reported during the past twenty-four hours.
