Govt making framework to bring private sector in agriculture and industrialization under CPEC.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa said this on Tuesday.

He said they were evolving a framework to bring the private sector in agriculture and industrialization under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Bajwa, also Chairman of CPEC Authority, said in a tweet he held a detailed meeting with Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing here at his office.

The ambassador, he said, specially thanked Pakistan for expeditious work on the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Development Agreement.

He further said that our focus remained on framework to bring private sector in agriculture and industrialization.

Earlier, Ambassador of China Yao Jing called on Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed (Monday.

During farewell meeting, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that regional rail network would ensure country’s access to the Central Asian countries through Afghanistan.

He said it would bring development and prosperity in the area.

The minister commended the services of the envoy for promoting Pak-China relations.

Furthermore, he said “Chinese ambassador’s efforts for approval of Main Line-I rail project are unforgettable”.

He said that ML-I project was a game changer for Pakistan Railways and indispensable for strengthening country’s economy.
