FM tells ambassador designate of priorities of Pakistan foreign policy, including economic diplomacy.

Ambassador Designate to Ethiopia Shozab Abbas called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan was facing with several challenges on the external front.

He said we will have to devote all our energies to cope with them.

Moreover, the FM gave special directions to the ambassador about priorities of Pakistan’s foreign policy including economic diplomacy.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi denounced the terrorist attack in Vienna.

Pakistan condemned in strongest terms the heinous terrorist attack in Central Vienna which resulted in the loss of precious lives and wounded several others.

In a statement, he expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the despicable incident.

While expressing solidarity with the government and people of Austria, he said Pakistan condemns terrorism.

Meanwhile, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez in a statement on Tuesday conveyed Pakistan’s deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the families of innocent victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

The spokesperson said Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

On Monday, Foreign Minister held a telephonic conversation with Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas.

He expressed concerns on the current rise of Islamophobia, racism and hate speech in Europe.

He noted denigration of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) through publication of caricatures as hurtful to the Muslim Ummah.

The minister further said that growing insensitivities to the sentiments of Muslims across the globe by the proponents of freedom of expression had made minorities in those countries vulnerable.

Furthermore, he emphasized it as an urgent need to promote inter-faith harmony.
