Pakistani Hindu Community celebrates Diwali like elsewhere in the world today (Saturday).

On the occasion of Diwali, the government of Pakistan has declared an optional holiday for the Hindu Community.

The PM made this announcement to facilitate Hindu community can celebrate the festival of light.

Various events will be organized in Hindu temples and other places, across Pakistan, to mark the festivities.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has felicitated all the Hindu citizens of Pakistan.

In a tweet today (Saturday), he wished Happy Diwali to the Hindu community of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani also congratulated the Hindu community across the country on the occasion of Diwali.

In his special message, he said that today is not only a day of happiness for the Hindu community of our country; but also reaffirms our commitment to celebrate such happy occasions together and live together on the principle of coexistence.

He hailed contribution of the Hindu community living in the country for the development and prosperity of Pakistan unforgettable.

On behalf of the people of Pakistan and the Upper House, Chairman Senate issued statement.

He said that our joys and sorrows are shared.

Furthermore, he said, we are following a common agenda of national development for all nationalities, communities and religions in a parliamentary democracy.

The complete religious freedom for all religions and minorities in Pakistan is a beacon for individuals and governments living in other countries.
