Shibli Faraz expressed these views, while talking to a private news channel.

He urged the opposition (PDM) parties to show sense of responsibility.

While drawing their attention to deleterious second wave of the COVID-19, he asked them to cease all public meetings in the current situation facing the country.

He said blackmailing or other pressure tactics being used by opposition parties in the wake of public meetings are unacceptable.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has a clear mandate and he would not take dictation from corrupt leaders.

While answering a question about resignation of the two major political parties, the minister noted PPP and PML-N not on the same page for quitting the assemblies.

However, he made clear that the PTI would not surrender before corrupt leaders.

In Lahore, Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan also spoke on the issue on Monday.

She said that Punjab government would take strict action against the SOPs violators.

Awan said this, while addressing a press conference here at Directorate of General Public Relations.
