Over 2400 new Coronavirus cases confirmed during last 24 hours in Pakistan.

According to latest statistics, 41 deaths due to Corona pandemic reported over the last twenty-four hours.

Besides, 2,408 new COVID-19 cases surfaced in the country.

Moreover, NCOC confirmed the country now has thirty seven thousand and seven active cases of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, 461,977 people have so far recovered from the disease.

On the other hand, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar commented on the latest situation.

In a series of tweets, he said that COVID-19 cases and mortality rate in the second wave had started declining.

However, he gave its credit to the timely and result-oriented decisions of the government.

Moreover, he said that when the second wave accelerated we closed high risk areas identified by our analysis in last week of November.

He noted rise of the admissions of COVID-19 patients in hospitals during first week of December last.

Furthermore, he cited the high number of patients on oxygen and ventilators during the second week of the month.

Later, third week witnessed high mortality rate but then it subsequently started declining.

He underlined highly correlation of the decisions and results.

While referring to data, he said it clearly shows that corona health consequences remain strongly correlated with our decisions and personal choices.

However, he reiterated his advice to the people to keep on taking precautionary measures in order to avoid any further spread of the pandemic.
