Minister for Climate Change briefs Senate on 185 industrial units in Islamabad who are complying with environmental related measures.

The Senate resumed its session at the Parliament House in Islamabad this afternoon.

Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul Wazir said that approximately over 185 industries units including different scale of sizes are working in the capital.

She further said that major industries in Islamabad include steel furnaces, marble and pharmaceuticals industries.

Zartaj Gul said that those industries also remain under observation by Pak-Environmental Protection Agency.

While answering a question, she said underlined complete prohibition of flow of industrial waste into rivers or streams of the capital.

She said that all industries of the capital stay bound to control their industrial waste through installation of pollution control systems.

On the other hand, Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro and Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar co-chaired an important meeting on Pakistan Steel Mill in Islamabad today (Tuesday).

Officials concerned briefed the meeting on progress as per approved transaction structure of Pakistan Steel Mills.

They also informed of other ongoing meetings with various investment parties for PSM.

In this regard different companies of China, Russia and Korea have shown interest.

Meanwhile, the ministers said that they would make every effort to resolve all issues for completion of transaction on time.
