President asks foreign businessmen to exploit huge investment potential

He urged them, while addressing an event marking the 20th anniversary of founding of Pakistan Japan Business Forum in Karachi.

Dr. Arif Alvi urged the foreign businessmen to exploit the huge investment potential in various sectors of Pakistan.

Particularly, he named information technology and tourism in this regard.

Furthermore, he said that all the positive economic indicators show that it is a great opportunity to increase bilateral trade with Pakistan.

He said Pakistan tremendously fought and succeeded in war against terrorism as result of sacrifices rendered by the people and armed forces personnel.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan was the first leader in the world, who had refused to impose a complete lockdown during the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic as he realized the economic difficulties it could cause for the people.

Meanwhile, Japanese Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda also spoke.

He noted ongoing efforts to end the trade imbalance between the two countries.

On the other hand, President Dr. Arif Alvi noted the bright future of Pakistan.

He said that the country is now getting stronger economically due to the prudent policies initiated by the incumbent government.

He said the current account deficit has decreased and foreign exchange reserves increased.

President Alvi highlights positive indicators

He also noted all economic indicators as positive.

The President said the country’s exports have also witnessed notable growth during the tenure of present government.

He said the government is striving to make Pakistan a geo-economic hub of the region.

The President said Pakistan is a peace loving country while India is continuously making efforts to sabotage the peaceful environment of the region.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Fehmida Mirza also spoke.

She said the government has introduced positive policies, including steps for ease of doing business.

Moreover, she said it an opportunity for the investors to take advantage of them and invest in Pakistan.
