Rs1bn Technical Supplementary Grant for COVID19 awareness campaign approved.

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet Friday approved Rs one billion.

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, presided the meeting.

It approved TSG for launching awareness campaign to inform and educate people, particularly during the third wave of COVID-19.

According to a press statement issued from the Finance Ministry, the ECC considered and approved allocation of funds.

It earmarked funds for Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) for launching advertisement campaigns to inform and educate people.

Particularly, campaign focus the third wave of COVID-19 for the public good.

Meanwhile, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar Friday said registration of those aged above 50 years for COVID vaccination would begin on March 30.

In a tweet, he said registration of those aged 60 and older has already begun.

The minister also serves as Chairman National Command and Operation Center ( NCOC).

Furthermore, he called upon the people to encourage everybody who was above 50 years of age to register.

Meanwhile, 43 people died of coronavirus in Punjab during last 24 hours.

Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said this on Friday.

She said, while addressing a press conference in Lahore.

Moreover, she said that among these deaths, 40 coronavirus patients died in hospitals and three in their homes.
