Pakistan mourns demise of renowned folk singer Shaukat Ali.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, ministers, politicians and artists have offered condolences.

The PM expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Shaukat Ali.

He prayed for elevation of the departed soul to high ranks and for fortitude to the grieved family.

He further said that the services of late Shaukat Ali in the field of singing in the country will always be remembered.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed grief and sorrow over his death.

In his message of condolence, the minister remembered Shaukat Ali as an artiste with a unique voice.

He said nation  would remember his artistic services for a long time to come.

The foreign minister prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

Moreover, he prayed God to grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.

Acclaimed folk singer Shaukat Ali passed away

Acclaimed folk singer Shaukat Ali passed away in Lahore today.

His son Ameer Shaukat Ali announced the funeral prayers between Maghrib and Isha at at Samsani Johar Town in Lahore.

Earlier Ameer had requested the singer’s fans for prayers following his deteriorating condition.

Shaukat Ali was undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Lahore.

He had faced multiple medical issues, including diabetes and a liver transplant.

Moreover, he had undergone a heart bypass surgery a few years ago.

Shaukat Ali ruled as Ghazal maestro and one of the most prolific artists of the Pakistani music industry, with a singing career spanning five decades.

Born into an artistic family in Malakwal, he had begun his singing career in the 1960s with film songs.
