PTI starts preparations for holding intra-party elections this week

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to hold intra-party elections following the directives of Election Commission of Pakistan which declared the previous intra-party elections null and void.
The PTI core committee has decided to hold intra-party elections after consultation with the incarcerated party chairman Imran Khan.
PTI to start the intra-party election preparations this week in order to contest the February 8, 2024 general elections.
The former prime minister will remain PTI chairman unopposed while elections will be held within the party on other designations.
Barrister Ali Zafar said that to avoid any discrepancies with the ECP, another leader may temporarily stand in for the PTI Chairman during this election.
On November 23, the Election Commission of Pakistan ordered the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to hold intra-party elections within 20 days.
PTI is required to conduct the re-election within 20 days of the decision and submit a report to the ECP within seven days after the elections.
