Army Chief warns youth of disinformation on social media

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir said the aim of social media and propaganda is to spread uncertainty, chaos and despair, therefore it is imperative to probe social media news.
Speaking at the Pakistan National Youth Conference in Islamabad, the army chief asserted the youth to have confidence in the country, its culture, civilization and in themselves, adding that they should be confident that they are the offspring of a great homeland and nation.
General Asim Munir said the purpose behind the creation of Pakistan was that our religion, civilization and culture were totally different from that of Hindus but it does not mean that we should adopt western culture.
He said that the army can fight terrorists but the cooperation of the entire nation was necessary against terrorism.
The army chief added that the country will never compromise on its sovereignty and he has full faith in Pakistan’s bright future.
