SSGC announced 11 hours of gas load shedding in Holy month of Ramzan

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to supply gas only in Sehr-o-Iftar timings of 3am to 9am and 3pm to 10pm in Holy month of Ramzan.

In a statement, the SSGC announced no loadshedding during Sehr-o-Iftar during the Holy month of Ramzan. The gas supply will remain suspended from 9 am to 3 pm and 10 pm to 3 am during the Holy month.

The SSGC will ensure a continued supply of gas during Sehr-o-Iftar times, the SSGC added. Pakistan’s gas reserves are declining 8 to 10 per cent every year, the company said in its statement.

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on March 11 (Monday) for the sighting of the Ramzan moon. According to the weather department, the first roza is likely on March 12.

Pakistan’s indigenous gas reserves are expected to be reduced by half by the fiscal year 2026-27.

Pakistan domestic gas output has dropped over the past decade, currently producing 3.8 billion cubic feet a day versus demand of 6 billion cubic feet a day.
