Mohsin Naqvi makes another controversial appointment in PCB

27 June, 2024 20:27

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has once again raised eyebrows with its decision to appoint a police officer, Hina Munawar, as the team manager for the Pakistan Women’s team for the upcoming Asia Cup, it learnt.

The move has sparked debate among cricket enthusiasts, with many questioning the PCB’s priorities and the potential impact on the team’s performance.

Munawar has had a notable career in law enforcement, serving in Swat and becoming the first female district officer in the Frontier Constabulary.

This is not the first time Munawar has been appointed to a key position on an international tour. Previously, she replaced the strength and fitness coach as the chief security officer, and now she has been appointed as the team manager.

Critics argue that fitness and performance are being compromised for non-cricketing appointments, potentially affecting the team’s dynamics and overall performance.

As the Asia Cup approaches, all eyes will be on how this administrative shuffle impacts the team’s performance.
