Pakistan Beat India 3-0 to Reach Asian Games Volleyball Semi-Finals

Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India 3-0 in the men’s volleyball quarter-final at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan to reach the semi-finals for the first time.
The match was played at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium, where Pakistan won all three sets 25-19, 25-23 and 25-18.
Murad Khan was Pakistan’s leading scorer with 22 points. Usman Faryad Ali added nine points, while Muhammad Hamad and Musawir Khan contributed eight and seven respectively.
Pakistan made a strong start and won the opening set 25-19 after 23 minutes. The team recorded a 70% attack success rate in the first set.
India fought back in the second set and established a 16-13 lead. Pakistan responded with a series of points to level the score and eventually move ahead 21-19.
Pakistan reached set point at 24-22 before converting its second opportunity to win 25-23 after a 34-minute battle.
The third set also began with Pakistan taking control. India narrowed the early gap but Pakistan extended its advantage to 14-9 and later 17-10.
Pakistan reached match point at 24-16. India saved two match points, but Pakistan sealed the contest on the third opportunity by winning the set 25-18.
The victory ended India’s campaign and secured Pakistan’s place in the Asian Games volleyball semi-finals.
Pakistan had earlier defeated Kazakhstan 3-1 and Uzbekistan 3-0 in the group stage before losing 0-3 to hosts Japan. The team finished second in Pool A to qualify for the knockout stage.
Pakistan Volleyball Federation officials congratulated the players following the historic victory and praised the team’s performance.
