FIA officers deployed in Discos accused of corruption

In a big development, the Power Division has accused FIA officers deployed in power distribution companies of corruption and failure to prevent power theft.
According to documents obtained by GTV News, Secretary Power Division has written a letter to DG FIA, charging FIA officers of misconduct.
FIA officers were deployed in distribution companies to prevent power theft, corruption, and improve revenue collection. However, Power Division alleged that these officers have failed to perform their duties honestly, exacerbating the situation.
Sources reveal that some FIA officers are accused of colluding with corrupt elements and providing protection to power thieves.
CEOs of distribution companies have complained to the federal secretary power division about the conduct of FIA officers, demanding action.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed the Power Division to appoint a deputy director-level officer from the FIA to the Discos on a permanent basis.
The FIA officials were tasked to prepare cases against the corrupt officers.
