Using cigarettes and vaping together increase risk of this deadly disease
A new study reveals that people who smoke and vape both have a higher risk of lung cancer.
“From a public health perspective, we’ve always been concerned about the use of traditional and e-cigarette products,” said Marisa Batoni, an oncology researcher at Ohio State University in Columbus and lead author of the study.
Batoni said the study provides clear evidence that vaping, in addition to smoking, can increase your risk of lung cancer.
Marissa and Anki’s team tracked the rates of both vaping and smoking among about 5,000 people diagnosed with lung cancer in the Columbus area, and compared them to a group of about 27,300 people without cancer.
