Watch: Azam Khan falls on ground after being hit on neck
Azam Khan, representing Guyana Amazon Warriors, had a close call during their CPL match against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons on August 30.
The Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter was struck on the neck by a bouncer from Shamar Springer, but fortunately, escaped serious injury.
Azam Khan was batting at number five when the incident occurred in the 12th over of the run chase. He attempted to pull a short delivery but was hit on the shoulder and then the neck.
The ball went on to crash into the stumps, dismissing him for nine runs off as many balls.
Khan fell to the ground in pain and received medical attention before walking back to the pavilion with the help of the physio.
Despite the setback, Guyana Amazon Warriors secured a thrilling three-wicket victory, courtesy Romario Shepherd’s 16-ball 32 cameo and Dwaine Pretorius’ last-over heroics against Mohammad Amir.
