Can one thinks that any actor will receive only one rupee as compensation for their work?
Yes! There was a film in the past that all Bollywood actors refused to do but superstar Salman Khan signed a contract to do that film and received only one rupee as compensation.
The film was released in 2004 starring Abhishek Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty and Salman Khan, the film’s producer Shailinder Singh has recently revealed about Salman Khan’s remuneration for the film.
He said that Salman was paid only one rupee for the film and he played the role of an HIV-positive man who dies in the film, a role that many Bollywood actors refused to do.
Shailinder Singh said that actually Salman himself volunteered for the film.
He also revealed that Salman heard from actress Shilpa Shetty about the role.
