Imran directs PTI to continue consultations with Fazl on judicial reforms
PTI leaders caught over Imranβs confrontation policy
PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Saturday that party founder Imran Khan has directed the PTI to continue consultations with JUI-F head Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the constitutional amendment.
Addressing a press conference alongside other PTI leaders, Barrister Gohar stated, “We have discussed the amendments with Imran Khan, and he has advised us to keep the dialogue going, as this is a very delicate issue.”
He said this following a meeting with the PTI founder, who is currently imprisoned in Adiala jail, to discuss the constitutional changes.
The members named include Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz, Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Ahmed Bhachar, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Gohar clarified that the party was still reviewing the government’s fourth draft, and a final decision would be made after consulting with Imran Khan.
However, Gohar stressed, “We will continue to engage with Maulana Fazl, but we condemn this unconstitutional and undemocratic approach to legislation.”
Earlier in the day, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that his party and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief have reached a 100% consensus on the constitutional amendment.
