India won’t travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy: Gupta

Renowned sports journalist Vikrant Gupta has stamped Indian media reports suggesting that the Rohit Sharma’s men won’t be travelling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.
Gupta made these comments while appearing in an interview, hours after Indian media reported that the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has informally communicated its decision to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to Vikrant Gupta, the idea behind revealing this information via media is to prepare Pakistan mentally.
“The media has been the battleground for India and Pakistan’s cricketing tensions,” Gupta said. “If anyone thinks that this decision was made today, they are mistaken. It never seemed likely that India would go, as the BCCI had no full control over the matter.”
He said the situation between Pakistan and India is unique unlike other previous host nations.
He further mentioned that it was not officially communicated to the PCB yet, despite the growing speculation in the media.
