Iran Dismantles Three Takfiri Terrorist Cells in Southeast

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry says it has dismantled three operational cells linked to Takfiri terrorist groups in southeastern Iran, arresting nine suspected terrorists and killing three others in clashes with security forces. The ministry said the cells were intercepted as they were entering Sistan and Baluchestan Province, before they could carry out planned acts of sabotage or terrorism.

According to the ministry, intelligence monitoring and information provided by members of the public played a key role in identifying and disrupting the cells. The statement said the arrested suspects had received military, explosives-making and assassination training outside Iran before secretly entering the country.

Iranian security forces also seized a significant quantity of weapons and military ammunition during the operation, the ministry said. Tehran has repeatedly warned of attempts by armed groups to infiltrate its southeastern border regions and carry out attacks against security personnel and civilians.
