Dubai, England considered for PSL10 draft

The players draft for the Pakistan Super League season 10 (PSL10) is being reportedly considered to be held abroad.

The development comes after a recent high-profile meeting held at in Lahore between the PSL franchises owners and the tournament organisers.

The hurdle also discussed holding the draft either in England or in Dubai. The reason behind move is to increase the PSL’s popularity.

The franchises also pressed on roping in notable foreign players for the upcoming edition, especially those, who went unnoticed in the recently-held Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction.

Moreover, the teams’ representative also requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to contact England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for English player’s participation in the next edition of the tournament.

Remember, the ECB has decided against issuing the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to national cricketers for participating in overseas franchise leagues that clash with the domestic season.

It is worth mentioning here that, the PSL, usually held in the February-March window each year, will take place between April and May next year, a window already acquired by the rival league IPL.

The window was changed due to the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy is being held in Pakistan in February-March.
