Prices of Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup leaked ahead of launch
Prices of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup leaked online ahead of January launch.
Unlike previous generations, the Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup is slightly more expensive then the Galaxy S24 series.
According to Korean outlet Yonhap News, the increase in prices occurred due to rapidly rising Korean won/US dollar exchange rate, while the other factor is going to affect prices of all smartphones globally.
For starters, the 6.2-inch Galaxy S24 128GB was launched at $799.99 in 2024, however, after the recent increase the 6.2-inch Galaxy S25 128 GB variant would now cost at $849.99. Similarly, it’s 256GB variant would be around $899.99 as comparted to $859.99 for the S24’s 256GB variant.
The prices also affect the 6.7-inch Galaxy S25 Plus in 256GB and 512GB configurations, they would retail at $1,049.99 and $1,159.99 respectively.
For comparison, the Galaxy S24 Plus 256GB was launched at $999.99 and its 512GB variant was at $1,119.99.
This trends means, the 6.8-inch Galaxy S25 Ultra is set to become the most expensive ultra-phone from Samsung, with base 256GB storage variant costing at $1,349.99 and $1,499.99 for its 512GB variant.
The 6.8-inch Galaxy S24 Ultra base 256GB variant was $1,299.99 and its 512GB storage variant was at $1,419.99.
Moreover, the use of a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor on all S25 models around the globe is also one of the key factors in an increase in cost.
The next-gen Qualcomm beast is likely to cost significantly more than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 chips inside the S24 family.
