Karachi man jailed for sharing ‘indecent images’ of ex-fiancé

A judicial magistrate sentenced Muhammad Shoaib to nine years in prison on Thursday for sharing explicit photos and videos of a woman on social media.
The verdict was delivered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), with Shoaib found guilty of violating the law. Along with the prison sentence, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 90,000.
The magistrate noted that Shoaib had been previously convicted for a similar offense in 2017, with his appeal still pending before the Sindh High Court.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed that Shoaib, who was the victim’s former fiancé, had posted the intimate images and videos online after their engagement was called off.
