Diljit Dosanjh faces legal action once again

Indian Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is facing legal action once again for allegedly singing a boozy song after his Ludhiana concert.

According to Indian media, the famous singer and actor’s New Year’s Eve concert in Ludhiana has become mired in legal controversy following a complaint filed by an assistant professor in Chandigarh, Pandit Rao Dhrinavar.

The complaint against the singer prompted the Deputy Director, government of Punjab, to issue a formal notice to the District Commissioner of Ludhiana, urging him to stop the singer from performing certain songs during his live show on December 31, 2024.

The notice specifically called for a ban on songs that hint at promoting alcohol such as ‘Patiala Pag’, ‘5 Tara Theke’, and ‘Case’ etc. which have become controversial.

The notice cited earlier warnings issued to Diljit Dosanjh by various commissions, where he was barred from singing the controversial song, but despite these warnings, the singer allegedly sang the lyrics on New Year’s Eve last night.
