Gold prices increase Rs500 per tola locally

Gold prices in Pakistan saw a slight increase on Monday, with the rate of 24-karat gold rising by Rs500 to Rs282,900 per tola.

The price for 24-karat gold per 10-gram also increased by Rs429, reaching Rs242,541. The 22-karat gold rate was quoted at Rs222,337 per 10-gram.

On the other hand, silver prices experienced a decline, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,372 per tola, down by Rs9. The price of silver per 10-gram dropped by Rs8 to Rs2,890.

Comparing to last week, gold price has gained Rs9,500 per tola over the last month and Rs41,200 since the start of the fiscal year. Meanwhile, silver has only seen a modest rise of Rs22 per tola in the last month.

Globally, gold traded at $2,709 per ounce, marking a 0.46% increase due to a weaker U.S. dollar. Markets are also awaiting insights from Donald Trump’s return to the White House and his inauguration speech, which could impact future economic and rate-cut policies.
