Champions Trophy: Indian match officials also refuses to visit Pakistan
After the India cricket team, their match officials have also refused to visit Pakistan for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
There will be no Indian umpire or referee in the umpires and referee panel for the eight-team tournament.
Match referee Javagal Srinath and umpire Nitin Menon refused to come to Pakistan for the event.
Indian media said that after the refusal of both the match officials, the ICC did not include them in the panel.
Match referee Javagal Srinath took leave from the ICC while umpire Nitin Menon apologized for the tour of Pakistan due to personal reasons.
According to ICC rules, Indian officials could not supervise India’s matches in Dubai.
Former fast bowler Javagal Srinath has represented India in 67 Tests and 229 ODIs. He took 236 wickets in Tests and 315 wickets in ODIs.
