Matthew Breetzke creates history on ODI debut

Debutant South Africa opener Matthew Breetzke created ODI history on Monday against New Zealand in the ongoing tri-nation series.
The right hander smashed 150 off 148 deliveries against the BlackCaps at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Breetzke smashed 11 boundaries and five maximums in the record-shattering innings. Doing so he became the highest runs getter on debut in the format.
He surpassed West Indies Desmond Leo Haynes, who scored 148 against Australia in 1978.
Breetzke’s calculated innings kept South Africa in the game as they managed to post a competitive total against inform New Zealand.
He also surpassed South Africa’s Colin Ingram, who scored 124 on debut against Zimbabwe in 2010.
